Jeannie in a Bottle

Life as a mum in Adelaide, Australia

Hello blog!

While I would apologise for being so MIA on the blogosphere, this post is explanation enough.

Praying and waiting for a child

First, let me begin by saying this is something we prayed for as husband and wife every night. We held hands, we prayed, and we waited. And again, we held hands, we prayed, and we waited. While we didn't have to wait as long as others have, it wasn't a one-time-and-jackpot thing for us either. A child is a blessing we had always hoped for and prayed for, and waiting for something you had asked the Lord so hard for - can be quite a difficult thing.

The best thing about fall fashion is that it's so easy to change your look by changing your layers. (Although we're approaching summer in Australia, it's autumn in other parts of the world..) So here's a post where I'm wearing the exact same outfit and transformed it to a whole different look by simply changing jackets and shoes.

On this perfectly lazy, gloomy and cold day, I just couldn't be bothered to put on a feminine, dressy attire. It took enough energy to roll out of bed as it is. We all have our lazy days.

I hope you're not getting sick of this pair of boots just yet. Unfortunately, when I moved to a different country, I had to pack everything into 2 luggage bags. This meant that I only had room for 1 pair of boots. And if I could only have one pair, I'd definitely go for a classic type like this that's so versatile that you can wear it with all types of outfits. Exhibit A: styled to look posh with a classic shirtdress. Exhibit B: edgy with faux leather. And for this post, "dressy casual" as the party I was headed to instructed. Whatever that means. And yes, that's my excuse for wearing this pair 3 blog posts in a row.

Hidden somewhere along Hindley Street, Adelaide, is this artistic wall of graffiti. I don't know why I never noticed it before. If you follow me on Instagram, then you've already had a sneak peak of this look.

Floppy hat - Topshop, Dress - Zalora Philippines, Scarf (borrowed), Belt - SM Accessories, Boots - Call It Spring
I am ever so slowly getting accustomed to the cold. Last month, I would have found this temperature freezing but now it's COLD (not freezing at least). Yes yes, while everyone else in the world is experiencing summer or spring, we are in the middle of autumn in Australia.

The temperature has dropped and it is now nicely cool for my first autumn in Adelaide. Is it me or has everyone here been dressing up more now that it's autumn? Maybe there's something about layering that has got everyone more inspired to play with fashion.

Say hello to my first autumn outfit post and coincidentally my first blog post featuring the streets of Adelaide.
