Jeannie in a Bottle

Life as a mum in Adelaide, Australia

Adelaide Fringe 2021 has officially kicked off and we had the pleasure of being invited to the opening weekend for children's event, Monski Mouse's Baby Disco Dance Hall. As a new mum, it was my first time to attend a children's show and I didn't really know what to expect. All I knew was that I have a very cheeky, friendly toddler who loves to go out and also loves to dance. So obviously this show would be perfect for her, right?

I am so happy about today's playground find! For the first time, my 14-month-old was actually immediately excited to play. She basically ran with excitement at this playground. I'm sure seeing some bigger toddlers contributed a lot to her excitement. But also, the way the playground was set up was very conducive to toddler play. Even better is that Sheidow Park is only a short drive from where we're located in the South of Adelaide.

Hello to my first Adelaide restaurant review. I often get asked for restaurant recommendations but I'm certainly no expert. That's probably why this is the first time I'm sharing about an Adelaide restaurant here on the blog. But I thought it would be nice to share the little gems I come across here on the blog. From here on, I'll be sharing good finds with you guys. (Ordinary or disappointing finds won't make it to the blog simply because I don't have all that time. Lol.) So why did Akimitsu Australia make it to my list? Read on.

Beyond the fog of sleep deprivation, there's plenty of things that goes on in the mind of a first time mother. Not everything makes sense, but sometimes it feels like your love could write poetry too. Here's a list of random thoughts I wrote several months ago, back when motherhood was still fresh and new to me:

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas with family. In the week leading up to Christmas, we got to visit Santa’s Wonderland SA held in the Adelaide Showground. I was fortunate enough to have received a PR invite as you would have seen on Instagram. But I wanted to share a review here on the blog as well. Thankfully, despite 2020's covid-19 whirlwind, Santa still came to visit. And we got to explore this wonderland.

2020 has certainly cancelled all our travel plans. The upside is that South Australia is a beautiful place to explore. I'm certainly grateful to call this state my home. After having such a wonderful experience at Big4 Renmark (check out that blog post), we thought another holiday park vacation would be lovely and easy. After the 3-day lockdown eased, we went off to a mini getaway at Victor Harbor. I found that NRMA had great online reviews and often ends up on top 10 lists for South Australia holiday parks. So I thought, let's do it! Read on.
