Toddler-Friendly Playground: George Street Reserve

by - 3:27 PM

Our favourite playground of the year would have to be George Street Reserve.

Location:

George Street, Marion, SA

Okay okay, I may be a little biased as it's so close to us. But seriously, read on to find out why I've deemed it our favourite for 2022.

George Street Reserve

Carpark:

They have ample parking space inside (not too clearly visible from the main street). And while I've never seen it full, there's plenty of side street parking available along the road as well.

Facilities For The Big Kids:

There is a basketball half court, a cricket net, and a tennis court available. I often see locals making good use of the tennis courts.

Of course, there are BBQ facilities and plenty of seating and tables for a comfy picnic.

I know there are toilets around but I haven't used it myself so I can't tell you more about that.

Fun For Toddlers:

And of course, the reason why we love this playground: it's perfectly fun and not at all intimidating for toddlers.

There's this large sand pit where the locals have left sand toys in - toy trucks, shovels, buckets, pots, and pans. Careful when coming into the sand pit from the side - it can be slippery!

There's a water pump which doesn't always work, but when it does, whew, that's heaps of messy sand fun!

And of course, the cubby house-themed play area which features swings, a trampoline, a climbing area that my 2-year-old could easily manage, and a slide that wasn't intimidating at all to my very cautious baby girl.

And if that's not enough, there's so much grass area and walking space for you and/or your dogs.

Have you been to George Street Reserve?

Always,
Jeanne
