Experiments + DIY Taiwanese Wintermelon Milk Tea

by - 5:00 PM

Well here's an outfit you never hardly ever see me in. If you've been following me for a while then you'd know that my style leans on the feminine side. But since I've been on a journey of change this year, I thought it'd be fun to try something different for today's post.
Cami and pants from Forever 21

This is my first set of harem pants and to be honest, I only bought it for travel comfort and something that could double as pajamas. But hey, I thought this pairing would go perfect with this camouflage G-shock watch I borrowed from K. (Also check out this post featuring another of K's G-shocks.)

Boyfriend's G-shock watch
I certainly enjoyed working this look around the boyfriend's watch. Don't you just love how men's watches can look absolutely fab on us girls? To glam up this otherwise androgynous look, I put on these black stilettos that I sadly had to leave behind in Cebu.
What do you think of this experimental look? Speaking of experiments, I have been craving for milk tea! And since I'm still getting settled here, spending $6 for a cup just doesn't sound practical. Fortunately, we found this Taiwanese wintermelon milk tea cube in a Hong Kong grocery in Adelaide's chinatown and I was just too amused with it for me not to share with you guys.

So here's a super quick recipe for a DIY Wintermelon Milk Tea!
DIY Taiwanese Wintermelon Milk Tea
1. Boil winter melon cube. (Each block is made up of 4 cubes and each cube makes a pitcher of milk tea.)
2. Pour desired amount into glass and add milk (as desired) and ice.
3. (Optional) If you want to play with the flavor, add a little of Twinnings earl grey tea.
4. (Optional) Or even better, add some nata de coco (coconut-flavored gelatin) and a little bit of the nata de coco juice. This one is my favorite combination. Yum!

Voila! It's surprisingly pretty good. Have you ever tried making your own milk tea?
