The Paper Bag Pants Trend (Dresslily Review)

by - 9:06 PM

I can't deny it, I'm currently hooked on the paper bag pants trend. While I know that jeans are absolutely fashionable when they fit right, the autumn and winter season - where I am clad in them all the time because it's cold - is enough for me. And now that it's spring, I'm glad to be in lighter and more comfortable material. Still, it's a little bit too windy to be dressing in shorts. Here is where trousers are perfect - or more specifically, paper bag pants!

Why I love this trend

When I can't be bothered to jump into restrictive jeans, but don't want to look like I rolled out of bed wearing sweatpants either, I hop into a pretty pair like this and I look like I actually made an effort.

This pair that I'm wearing is high waisted and belted with a slimming silhouette which makes it easy for me to hide my belly after a feast. The style also allows me to pretend like I worked in the corporate world even though I don't. Lol

Dresslily Review

Style

I obviously picked this stylish white top because of the style and it's unique twist on the basic white tee.  It also had a little trinket sewn on to it so you don't have to worry about accessorising. Also chose the pants because they're so trendy and classy at the same time. Love how many options there are for trendy pieces on Dresslily

Quality
But I guess you get what you pay for because the quality isn't that great. Despite wearing seamless underwear, there would still be very visible panty lines with these pants. So I ended up wearing a long vest to cover it up as well as add to my overall look.

I was also disappointed to find that the tee had a tear when I opened the package. This is probably due to the cut out details on the top. Also, the material is super thin and see through so I had to wear a camisole underneath.

Price

But then, the top plus the pants only cost a total of less than AU$46. And if you're the type who goes through clothes quite quickly, cheaper pieces are always a thrill.

Fit

I got both pieces in the size Small. I usually wear an AU size 6-8 and I was happy to find that both pieces fit very well.

What I'm wearing:

With all that being said, I do love these pants and will surely be wearing them a lot this Spring season.

PS: There's a midyear sale going on at Dresslily HERE.

And of course, I've got discount codes for you guys if you're up for some budget shopping:
