The Rock Pools At Second Valley

by - 9:01 PM

South Australia's beaches are absolutely beautiful to say the least. Perhaps I shall make it a personal mission to visit each one. For today, let's visit an Instagram-favourite - Second Valley. It was my first time there and of course I was on the hunt for the most beautiful views. Don't you hate it when Instagrammers refuse to say where the exact location of where a photo was taken? Today, I'll show you exactly where to find these rock pools at Second Valley.
Second Valley, South Australia rock pool

Are you ready? Follow me!

Drive to Second Valley beach and Google Maps should take you to the jetty. You'll drive past the caravan park with a cafe (where we had some hotdogs and wedges) and get to the parking area. Near the car park were the public toilets which were some of the cleanest and most well-kept public toilets at the beach - I was impressed. I didn't see showers at the time though.

When facing the jetty, you will find a pathway on the left that leads to rocky pathways. To the right of the jetty is the sandy part where you can have a picnic or go swimming. Take the pathway on the left and you'll see rocky footpaths.

Walk along this ledge. Be careful.

Look towards your left side and you'll soon see the area to sneak into to find the rock pools.
That patch of water seen in the photo above is where these photos were taken:

What looked like a little patch of water turned into a lovely oasis - a private spot for two (or an Instagram haven).

From this point though, you will see the bigger area where the first photo was taken. Sitting here felt like it could be a perfect and natural "spa" area for a group of girlfriends.

Have you been to these rock pools before? Are there more to discover at Second Valley? Let me know in the comments below as I'd love to discover new "secret" spots the next time I visit. And of course, if you know someone who'd love to visit these spots, don't forget to share this post with them! :)

Always,
Jeanne

  14. Such a natural looking rockpool! I've only been a normal looking ones here in Sydney. Good on you to show how to get there. Yes, there are instagrammers who conceal the location but then eventually you'll find it out where from others :)
